Yippee! I did it!

Ok, so I might be a little bit too excited about getting a layout done...but this Monochromatic Challenge over at Let's Scrap was a little too challenging for me as it has taken several days and several layouts later to actually do it!

Now trying to find paper that all works together in the same tones of one colour sounds easier than it was for me!

After looking through my stash I found some really old Little Yellow Bicycle, My Mind's Eye and Bazzill cardstock that all worked together...I also found some BoBunny chipboard for my arrow and flocked brads and epoxy chipboard buttons from LYB.

I pulled out my favorite stamp set with Close To My Heart called 'Enjoy Life' for the swirly flourishes and the 'Boys at Play' for the Full Speed Ahead sign.

Now for the required handmade embellie part of this challenge, I happened to come across the PERFECT colour match in fabric, some scraps from a project my girls were working on and so I cut three circles and layered it with a button and an arrow!

Alphabet letters are from Jillibean Soup (corrugated), Cricut and punch for the splash letters and splash( I added some Glossy Accents to these) and Thickers (glossy green)

So now that I know I can handle even the toughest challenges for me...I'm off to work on yet another one...stay tuned!

  1. Just popped over from the Let's Scrap website to see all the detail in this great monochromatic layout--and I am not disappointed! These photos of your son zipping are way cool! Of course, as a scrapper, I look for presentation, too, and you have done such a creative job there. I love the fabric flower, the stamping and that journaling "spot," but your title rocks this layout! Totally awesome!

    1. Thanks so much Kay, you are always so generous! It was super fun to work on this challenge and hopefully lots of people will get inspired to play along with us over at Let's Scrap!

  2. This is an absolutely stunning monochromatic layout. The papers complements the photos just perfectly.

    1. Thank you Desire! Don't you just love that we all connect through our craft even though we are on opposite sides of the earth!!!

  3. I just love the green view; so serene! The photos are incredible and the title is perfect! Love your take on the sketch :) Oh yes, Kay sent me here :)

  4. Just popping over cause Kay sent me! Just love the use of all that green

  5. This is amazing! I can not tell you how impressed I am with this layout! The papers and embellishments & details you put together work magic together. You should be really proud of this one, Kristine! I'm so glad Kay sent me over!

  6. Absolutely gorgeous monochromatic layout! I love your photos and how you scrapped them! I saw your layout at kay's blog and just had to stop by yours to tell you how much I LOVE it!!!!
